SYDNEY | Blacksmith is one of the best cafes in Mona Vale, and when it was announced that the owners Young Jin Cho and Nami Park were going to be opening a second Blacksmith in Surry Hills, people had big expectations. Thankfully these expectation were met – the offering here is every bit as good as the original.

Located just across from Prince Alfred Park and its swimming pool, there’s enough to keep park goers happy, be it a quick Toby’s Estate espresso, cold drip or pour over coffee and pastry or something more substantial. Everything is made in house – try the Smithy breakfast burger which consists of a brioche bun filled with pesto fried egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, pickled slaw, beetroot relish and chilli jam, or the chicken karaage and bagna cauda.

Blacksmith also has a liquor license and is open late in the evenings when it switches into more of a bar, offering a surprisingly good selection of beer, wine, whisky and cocktails.
