CHICAGO | Meddle, Dark Matter Coffee’s (DMC) newest coffee bar, opened its doors in October 2016. After setting up shop all over the city (they also run the fantastic Osmium Coffee Bar in Lakeview), Meddle is DMC’s first downtown location. All of DMC’s coffee shops transport visitors to intergalactic worlds, exuding a strange vibrancy not common for your typical coffee joint.
Meddle is no different. DMC worked with muralist, Jason Brammer, to define Meddle’s image, “Psychedelegance”. You have only to step inside to see a “coffee jungle coming to life”. Of course this all counts for nothing if the coffee isn’t up to scratch, but as you’d expect, some of the best coffee in town is served up here. As well as espresso based drinks, Meddle serves up things filter brews, cold brew and barrel-aged coffees. Try the agave latte for something particularly tasty and a little bit different, or an unadulterated espresso featuring one of the rotating single origin roasts.
