LONDON | Neal’s Yard Dairy is located in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden, and is a must visit place for lovers of cheese. It was founded in 1979 by Nick Saunders and Randolph Hodgson, and is one of the forerunners of the wholefood movement in London.

Described by some as London’s ‘foremost cheese store’, Neal’s Yard Dairy sells a wide range of mostly British and Irish cheeses. Around 60 cheese are available at any given time, including many farmhouse varieties like Colston Bassett Stilton and Gloucestershire Stinky Bishop. Many of the cheese are aged in Neal’s Yard Dairy’s own maturing rooms under the brick railway arches of Bermondsey.

Staff will happily allow you to sample a few different cheeses, and there are also other dairy products and bread available for sale. With everything you need to enjoy at home, or for an impromptu cheese picnic in one of the many nearby grassed squares or parks, we guarantee you won’t leave without buying a few things.

Neal’s Yard Dairy also have a location in Borough Market, which offers a similarly fantastic range of cheeses, and you can also shop online. For those wanting something more, there are a number of cheese tasting and cheese making courses run each month – check out the website for details.
