CHICAGO | Elaine’s Coffee Call, located off the lobby of the boutique Hotel Lincoln, is a Lincoln Park neighborhood favorite. In addition to serving delicious coffee, this cafe has sweet story behind its namesake. The European-style coffee shop is named for a previous hotel operator, Elaine, who used to call up hotel resident David Mamet (award-winning playwright) each night to offer him his evening beverage.

The shop is owned by the Boka Restaurant Group, the same group that operates Chicago culinary staples such as Stephanie Izard’s Duck Duck Goat and Girl & The Goat. In addition to La Colombe coffee, Elaine’s serves up a variety of pastries in its cozy, retro-chic setup. In the summer months, grab your coffee to go and head across the street to the Green City Market. Or, walk the family over to Lincoln Park Zoo only steps away.
