MELBOURNE | Grain Asian Dessert Bar is located inside Box Hill Central (don’t confuse it with Grain Asian Cafe) and offers an assortment of authentic Hong Kong desserts and snacks. The most popular item here is the signature Hong Kong style custard egg tart. Served warm, the pastry is buttery and flaky while the custard is wobbly and smooth. It’s not too sweet, and very much the authentic kind of custard tart you find in Hong Kong.
As well as the famous custard tarts, Grain Asian Dessert bar also sells things like Wu Gock (deep fried taro dumplings), mango pudding, black sesame buns, salted bean curd, and osmanthus tea jelly. Our advice is to grab a few custard tarts and other things that grab your eye and enjoy – you won’t be disappointed.
