SAN DIEGO | Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station is the Point Loma outpost of Stone Brewing, one the the most well known US craft beer brewers. Located in a former Naval Training station, the Liberty Station taproom encompasses more than 23,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor dining and bars, as well as a bocce ball court, outdoor cinema space and an 11,315-square-foot garden. Your average taproom this is not.
The main focus, beer, can be found across 40 taps which feature Stone year-round and special releases and beers from other small breweries. On top of this, there are over 100 bottles of beer on offer at any given time from across the globe. It’s hard to recommend something when there’s so much on offer, but given Stone’s reputation for making outstanding hop-focused beers, you should definitely try the Ruination Double IPA and the Enjoy By, which is a rotating fresh IPA designed to be ‘enjoyed by’ a certain date.
There are also several beers brewed on site available here, which are well worth trying if you want something you won’t be able to find elsewhere. Talk to the extremely knowledgeable and passionate staff to find out what they’re drinking, and to get some help with selecting the right beers for you if you’re unsure.
Food is world inspired pub food, and features food designed to match well with beer from cuisines as diverse as America, Japan, Thailand and Continental Europe.
