SAN FRANCISCO | Four Barrel Coffee are a San Francisco based coffee roaster with three cafes across town. Their cafe in Mission is also the site of the roastery, with the large warehouse space featuring a retail component out the front, coffee bar in the centre, and roasting equipment out the back. Stool and table seating is dotted throughout the space, with our favourite spot being the stools behind the coffee bar, overlooking the large vintage German roaster and bags of coffee beans. Music is an eclectic selection of tunes on vinyl.
Pretty much any kind of coffee brew style you want can be found here, from espresso to pour over, cold drip to batch brew. You can also buy beans and coffee equipment and paraphernalia to take home. Four Barrel engage in sustainable practices across all aspects of their business, and develop direct, long-term relationships with coffee bean growers in Latin America, Indonesia, and East Africa. The coffee they roast focuses on cleanness, sweetness, acidity, complexity.
