Aizuwakamatsu City Guide

Welcome to our Aizuwakamatsu City Guide. Aizuwakamatsu is a city that’s full of culture and history. Known as “Samurai City”, it was an important “castle town” during the Edo period, when the samurai ruled Japan, and home to many important samurai institutions. As well as having lots to satisfy history buffs, Aizuwakamatsu has loads of shops selling local crafts, and plenty of places to enjoy fantastic Japanese cuisine, and regional specialities you won’t find elsewhere. There are lots of interesting nearby towns for day trips too, like Kitakata and Ouchi-juku.
