MEDELLIN | Toucan Cafe & Tours is a great place to sample fantastic Colombian coffee, and to organise any tours that you may want to do in Medellin and its surrounds. The cafe is housed in a small and simple place, with and offering of coffee, juices, pastries and light breakfast/lunch options. There’s couches and seating inside, as well as a covered patio and free WiFi throughout.

Coffee is the main reason to visit here, with a variety of high quality, ethically sourced Colombian single origins beans and blends on offer. The usual range of espresso and filter coffees are available, along with flavoured coffees and cold drinks. The nitro cold brew is highly recommended. If you want to learn more about Colombian coffee, and the art of making coffee, Toucan also run coffee classes.

The other reason to visit Toucan is for their tours and language classes. We don’t usually do tours when travelling, but there were a few things we wanted to do while in Medellin where a tour was the best option. What we like about Toucan’s tours is that they’re geared towards travellers who want a ‘real’ experience. They’re run by locals who are passionate about the subject of the tours, and really know their stuff. Tours include things like coffee plantation visits, food and walking tour around Medellin, and day trips to towns like Guatape.
