CHICAGO | Chicago’s Original Architecture Tour is the ultimate way to experience the city’s incredible structures. The company behind it, Wendella, was started by a carpenter in 1935. The first tour lasted 30 minutes and cost 25-cents per passenger. Today, it’ll cost you more than a quarter to ride on one of nine Wendella vessels, and the 75-minute tour is well worth it.

The architecture tour takes you through the heart of the city on all three branches of the Chicago River. Each tour is led by a an architectural guide who elaborates on the city’s innovation in the realms of design, style and technique, using Chicago’s buildings as visual guides to tell the story. You’ll leave with a better understanding of Chicago history and a clear appreciation for the art and architecture all around you.

In addition to its famous architecture tour, Wendella offers a variety of of other cruises as well. These range from romantic sunset and fireworks cruises, to beer and bbq cruises. See a complete list, here and book your tour today. Tours run from mid-March through the end of November, and hours vary by tour type.
