SYDNEY | Batch Brewing Company Marrickville is the brainchild of Americans Andrew Fineran and Chris Sidwa, who met in Sydney playing Lacrosse. Keen homebrewers, their first Batch beer was an American Pale Ale but they soon began to experiment with different flavours and techniques and now, along with their core range of beers, offer some very interesting and novel beers.
The core range is outstanding (we love the American Pale Ale and Elsie the Milk Stout), and the rotating beers will differ depending on when you visit. When we visited it was the “In A Pickle!” (Cucumber and Sorachi Ace Sour) and “What A Melon” (Summer ale with El Dorado and pressed watermelon) that were on the experimental taps.
The Marrickville warehouse that houses Batch Brewing is large and very popular on weekends, with the full range of beers available on tap to either drink in house or take home in a growler (1.89L) or bomber (640ml). There’s generally a food truck parked out the front too, the exact truck differing depending on the day.
The Batch Brewing warehouse is a great industrial space with a variety of table and seating options and offers some of the best craft beers in Sydney. Definitely work getting yourself to Marrickville for.
