SANTIAGO | Bloom Specialty Coffee is a small family run cafe in Santiago’s Lastarria neighbourhood that takes its coffee seriously. It’s one of the best places in town for coffee, and employs innovative grain extraction techniques and preparation methods to make the perfect cut. Beans are sourced ethically and roasted on site, with a particular view to environmental issues and conservationism.

There’s a variety of brewing methods on offer at Bloom – cold brew, Chemex, V60 and Aeropress. They are, however, particularly knows for their espresso based drinks and intricate latte art.

There’s no kitchen here, it’s primarily about the coffee. If you are hungry however, there’s a small selection of cakes and pastries on offer.

Paul has a strong inquisitive nature that drives him to look beneath the surface in order to discover what really makes a city and its people tick, and what better way to do this than over a good meal or drink, with a city’s locals, at places that people who live in that city actually frequent.
