NEW YORK CITY | Blue Bottle Coffee (Rockefeller Center) is one of the hardest Blue Bottle Coffee spots that we’ve had to find. That’s because it’s not located where people unfamiliar to the area might think, but rather in the basement arcade of the building across the road from the Rockefeller Lower Plaza that most visitors are familiar with.

Here are some directions to help you find the cafe, taken from Blue Bottle’s website:

  • Directions from BDFM subways
Exiting from the subway, follow signs that read “24-hour booth and 49th street.” After heading through the turnstile, stay right through the revolving doors. At Paper Source, take the right tunnel. At the end of the hall, stay to the right, where you will see a large seating area with chairs and tables. We are located to the upper left corner of the seating area. (Look for the blue bottle!)
  • Directions from 49th Street
Enter Rockefeller Plaza from the revolving doors labeled “14 West 49th Street” located between Free People and Morell’s. Take a right down the stairs. You will see us as you descend!
  • Directions from 48th street:
Enter Rockefeller Plaza from the revolving doors labeled “15 West 48th Street” located between Citibank and Dean & DeLuca. Walk past the information desk (or feel free to stop and ask questions) and take the stairwell to the left leading to the concourse level.

Once you find the place, you’ll be faced with the usual selection of quality coffee drinks that Blue Bottle is known for. A range of espresso and filter based drinks, including of course the signature New Orleans iced coffee. As with every Blue Bottle we’ve visited in the US, staff are well trained, and are able to explain the different beans and brews on offer if you want to try something new. If you’re not adventurous and just want “a coffee” the house blend latte is fantastic.

Parfaits and pastries are baked fresh daily in Blue Bottle’s Brooklyn kitchen and you can also order their tasty made-to-order liege wafels.
