CAIRNS | Cairns Art Gallery (formerly Cairns Regional Gallery) opened on 15 July 1995, in the city’s heritage listed former Public Curators Building. Today, it’s one of Australia’s leading regional public galleries, recognised for the excellence of it’s programs and collections relating to the unique heritage and living culture of North Queensland.
Across the gallery’s three levels, you’ll find the permanent collection, along with rotating exhibitions. It showcases traditional Indigenous artworks to contemporary styles, with a focus on local artists.
