CHINCHERO | Centro Arqueológico de Chinchero (Archeological Park of Chinchero) is an important historical site in Chinchero, important not only for its colonial and Inca ruins, but evidence of the pre-Inca civilisations that lived there. It is where the palace of the Inca Tupac Yupanqui was located, and his final resting place.

Of particular interest are the Inca era agricultural slopes. Occupying 43 hectares, on land previously occupied by the Killke culture, it’s an important example of ancient civilisation architecture. It also happens to be located amongst some of the most stunning scenery in Peru’s sacred valley.
