MEDELLIN | Centro Comercial Palacio Nacional is a shopping mall in downtown Medellin that’s notable not just for the over 400 shops inside, but for its architectural beauty. The Palacio Nacional dates back to 1925 and originally housed the Palace of Justice of Medellín. It’s a gem of a building, with modernist and romance influences. Along with the shops, it’s also home to several cafes, bars, and art gallery, and a museum.
You may think that a building like this would be home to high end brands, but the opposite is actually true. Most of the shops here are local stores, with a particular focus on clothing, footwear, and baseball caps. It’s very popular with the younger crowd, with several stores focusing on sports and street wear.
