CHICAGO | The historic Venetian Gothic building at 12 South Michigan Avenue has been one of the city’s architectural highlights for more than 120 years. What had served as a private men’s club was reopened in 2015 as the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel with a rooftop terrace featuring views of Lake Michigan, Millennium and Grant Parks, Michigan Avenue, and Chicago’s Art Institute. Cindy’s Rooftop is a must to show off the city for out-of-town guests, a staple after work happy hour venue, and an easy pick for date night.
The bar menu includes an extensive list of cocktails and mocktails, evoking historical favorites with a present day twist. Lunch, brunch, and dinner are served a Cindy’s with an emphasis on seafood, and farm-to-table dining. Cindy’s tends to be busy whenever it is open and the wait, beginning on the first floor at the elevator, can be frustrating. Skip the line by making a reservation beforehand and head straight to the elevator where security will confirm your reservation on an iPad and send you up to the rooftop.
