HEALDSBURG | Costeaux French Bakery have been baking bread in Healdsburg since 1981, when they won their first Sonoma County Harvest Fair Sweepstakes for sourdough bread. It’s not just bread that these guys are famous for though – Costeaux also bake a wide selection of cakes, pastries and desserts.
At their high ceiling, rustic French style cafe on Healdsburg Avenue you can purchase baked treats to go, or sit and enjoy breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee. Dishes are made using local, seasonal produce and are very tasty. Try the smoked duck sandwich which sees seeded sourdough grilled with Willie Bird smoked duck breast, spinach, grilled onion & mushroom and French whole grain mustard mayonnaise. For dessert, check out the signature triple chocolate mousse – three layers of dark chocolate, milk chocolate & white chocolate mousse with a chocolate cookie crumb crust topped with a handmade chocolate rose.
