LONDON | Dalston Superstore is an East London institution. The gay bar is notorious for late night raves, drag shows and eccentrically themed parties but has recently moved onto mastering the brunch life. You might be a bit turned off by the idea of grabbing some eggs benedict and smashed avo from a nightclub but this place transforms into a unique café/bar during the day with all memory of the night before cleaned away.

There’s things like the ever reliable Full English with Cumberland sausage, smoked streaky bacon, eggs, potato and celeriac rosti, Boston beans, chestnut mushrooms, grilled tomato, and toasted sourdough, and the more swish Kale & Goat’s Cheese Frittata with stir fried kale, eggs, goat’s cheese, caramelised red onion, basil and leaves. For us, the Halloumi Bap is always a good choice, featuring grilled halloumi, cacik, confit cherry tomatoes, and butter lettuce in a toasted bun. Depending on how you’re feeling from the night before, you might want to opt for a pick me up in the form of alcohol (Mimosa, Bloody Mary) or something a bit less boozy (Allpress Coffee, Teapigs teas).

Whatever you go for, don’t let your misconceptions about what for a long time was just a night club, is capable of doing when it turns its mind to brunch. The food here is quality, and the service and atmosphere is top notch too.
