MELBOURNE | As part of this year’s Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (“MFWF”), Victoria Harbour are hosting a Crawl ‘n’ Bite event – Native Botanicals & the Art of Ginstronomy, which will take festival goes on an exploration of native Australian botanicals and the rise of their use in food and, in particular, gin.

Sebastian Reburn (bartender and gin distiller) and Cam Smith (Triple R ‘Eat It’ radio presenter) will guide guests through Lendlease’s most recent residential building for a series of gin tasting experiences that culminates in a gin and food pairing session featuring native ingredients in collaboration with Fitzroy restaurant Charcoal Lane. Reburn will discuss how lemon myrtle, eucalyptus and more can be harvested and grown in urban environments (as they have been at Victoria Harbour’s rooftop garden) and used in the gin distilling process.

At the end of the event, attendees will be able to take home a bottle of bespoke gin made specially for the event from ingredients grown and foraged in Victoria Harbour’s rooftop garden, that we at The City Lane helped harvest.

Tickets are on sale of the MFWF website now.
