SAN FRANCISCO | Fermentation Lab is a craft beer bar with a focus on all things local. Its 24 taps feature beers from California breweries only, and the food menu uses only locally sourced produce and ingredients.
The beer selection rotates regularly, and features a mixture of core range beers, seasonals and rarities across a wide range of styles. Expect beers from breweries like Half Moon Bay Brewing, Russian River, Fieldwork, 21st Amendment and more. If you see a few things on the board that take your fancy, go for a flight of four generous pours. For those who don’t drink beer, there’s a well considered selection of three white and three red wines, all Californian of course.
The food here is different than most, with a focus on, as you can probably guess by the name of the venue, fermentation. Think starters like pickled veggies, deviled eggs, and cheese and charcuterie boards, and mains like sandwiches, burgers and salads. The Duck Confit Sliders are a must try. A love of beer is a requirement for all of the staff working here, which means the kitchen staff know how to make food that pairs well with different styles of beer, and the bar staff are very knowledgeable and happy to talk all things beer.
