LOS ANGELES | G&B Coffee is named after owners and champion baristas Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinski. It’s located in Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles and is where you’ll find some of the best coffee in town. After a face lift in 2015, G&B Coffee now resembles a bar more than a typical coffee counter. It’s a 360 degree space, with 18 stools surrounding the bench and the action in the middle. It’s designed to encourage conversation and customer interaction. To this end, there aren’t any dedicated staff taking orders and payment here, rather the baristas do that from anywhere at the bar using iPads. It allows customers to have interaction with the person making their drink, and is something we really like.
Back to the coffee though, and there’s a lot on offer here, from espresso based drinks through to filter, cold drip and anything else you can think of. Beans are sourced ethically from small scale growers around the world, and the team regularly sample beans from hundreds of roasters to ensure they’re selling the best coffee out there. No matter how you like your coffee, you’ll always have a good drop here, but we highly recommend the iced latte, which was named the best iced latte in America by the New York Times in 2016.
It’s not just great coffee that you find here either. G&B Coffee also sell interesting creations like hop-infused, barrel-aged, carbonated ice tea, and unique sparkling sodas. If you’re interested in learning more about coffee, visit at 5:30pm on a Wednesday where weekly cuppings occur and you can taste the range of G&B coffees from around the world.
Walk up to the bar, pull up a stool, and enjoy a casual brew.
