AUSTRALIA | Zumbo’s Just Desserts is probably something we don’t need to explain. If you’ve been watching the Olympics on Channel 7, listening to commercial radio, waiting at a bus stop or train station, passing a billboard, or basically just existing in Australia over the past 2 weeks, you will have seen and heard ads for the new show.
If, however, you’ve somehow missed all of this, here’s what you can expect when the show premiere’s on Channel 7 on Monday night at 7:30 after the Olympics. It’s a dessert focused cooking show co-hosted by Adriano Zumbo, Rachael Khoo, with Gigi Falanga as assistant. 12 amateur baker contestants, baking challenges, one elimination per episode – you get the drift. Kind of like the Great British/Australian Bake Off but a bit different.
The City Lane was invited to the preview event for the show at Zumbo’s South Yarra cafe and where guests were treated to an assortment of delectable delights, from a sweet and savoury taco featuring strawberries to Zumbo’s famous croquembouche.
If you have a sweet tooth and like reality cooking shows, Zumbo’s Just Desserts could be one you want to tune into on Monday night.
