NEW YORK CITY | Kesté Pizza & Vino is a pizzeria (well four pizzerias these days) in New York City that focuses on authentic Neapolitan pizzas. We’re not talking your typical New York slice here, rather beautiful thin crust pizzas cooked in Associazone Pizzaiouli Napoletana approved wood fired oven at super high temperatures for a beautifully spongy, charred crust. All of the pizza makers have also been certified by the Associazone Pizzaiouli Napoletana, meaning you’re getting as close to the real thing as possible outside of Italy.
Pizza chef and owner Roberto Caporuscio is a dairy farmer-turned-cheese-salesman turned pizza maker, and takes his pizza so seriously that he’s the head of the Associazone Pizzaiouli Napoletana’s American branch. The pizzas toppings at Keste are of the traditional variety, and use only the best local and Italian ingredients. Expect pizzas like Margherita (tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, grana, basil, extra virgin olive oil), capriciossa (tomato sauce, artichokes, assorted mushrooms, Italian cooked ham, fresh mozzarella, grana, basil, extra virgin olive oil), and rachetta (ricotta, mushroom, hand-made mozzarella, eggplants, zucchini, grape tomatoes, yellow, red peppers, basil, extra virgin olive oil).
For those who are looking for more than just pizza, there’s also a selection of salads and a few antipasti, but let’s be honest, the reason you come to Keste is for the pizza. It’s been almost 10 years since the original Keste on Bleeker opened, but the pizzas here are still some of the best in New York City.
