CARTAGENA | Museo del Oro Zenú (Zenú Gold Museum) is a museum in Cartagena’s historic centre showcasing a number of gold artefacts. Housed inside a converted colonial-era mansion, the museum focuses on the gold and pottery of the Zenú people, who inhabited what are today the Bolívar, Córdoba, Sucre and northern Antioquia parts of Colombia.
As well as looking at the indigenous use of gold, the Zenú Gold Museum also touches upon gold brought to the country by pirates and explorers, who arrived in Colombia during the Spanish conquest in search of treasures.
