PERTH | OPEN By Duotone is the sister restaurant of East Perth’s Duotone, and sees Korean born, classically French trained owner/chef David Yeo bring his unique food to Northbridge. OPEN is larger than Duotone, with a small indoor space opening up to a large covered courtyard. The kitchen is larger too, and OPEN is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The space makes use of natural materials, natural light, and lots of greenery to act as a sort of urban oasis.

The East-meets-West menu was developed by Yeo and chef Alex Joe, who was also born in Korea, and features plenty of appealing dishes that put Korean and Japanese twist on familiar classics. Think things like Kaarage Fried Chicken Burgers, Japanese Omurice, and Matcha Tea-ramisu. The Hash Brisket – house smoked beef brisket, poached free range egg, kimchi slaw, paprika rubbed fries, avocado, sour cream & BBQ sauce, is a delicious blend of flavours and textures. Also fantastic is the Soft Shell Crab Croissant with fried egg, avocado, light wasabi mayo, mixed green salad & shichimi.

Coffee is on point – espresso and filter options are available using a house blend from Zest, and rotating single origin beans from roasters like Market Lane Coffee. There’s also alternative lattes, cold pressed juice, smoothies and organic teas. After breakfast, its cocktails, wine, spirits and cocktails, such as the signature Soju and Saké bombs.

OPEN by Duotone takes all that’s great about the original and expands on it, in a relaxed space with friendly service. A great option when looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner in Northbridge.
