PERTH | The burgeoning Bulwer St strip of hospitality venues welcome a new addition in October. It’s called Preston’s Deli, and it’s located in the space formerly home to Tomorrow On Tap.
Inspired by a mix of Australian and Italian nostalgia, the diner-style sandwich shop offers a tight menu of muffins, sandwiches, muffulettas, and melts. It’s influenced by the flavours that owners James Dunston and Jimmy Marsden love to eat, and James’ experience working in kitchens across Sydney and Perth.
On the menu, you’ll find things like a sausage, scrambled egg, and cheese muffin; fish finger sandwich with shredded lettuce, and tangy tartare; and a mortadella melt. The chunky, crisp hash brown is a thing of beauty, and there’s a small selection of sweet treats like slices, muffins, and pastries.
To drink, it’s coffee made using DoubleDouble beans (which you can also buy whole or ground for home), juices, and soda.
