HO CHI MINH CITY | Hanoi specialty bún chả is one of my favourite Vietnamese dishes. If you’re in Ho Chi Minh City and find yourself craving this North Vietnamese delight, Quán Bún Chả Ánh Hồng is one of the best places to eat it.
It’s a small venue in District 3, always busy with a stream of locals enjoying a feed. The menu is simple. There’s the base set, which gets you smoky, flavoursome grilled pork mince patties, white rice vermicelli noodle, fresh herbs, pickles, dipping sauce, and condiments like chilli and garlic.
If you want more, you can order additional serves of any of the bún chả components, along with Vietnamese spring rolls, and prawns. Everything is made fresh to order, and the flavours are brilliant. Order some refreshing iced tea to wash it all down.
