SYDNEY | Wayward Brewing Co Annandale found a permanent home after 4 years of gypsy brewing and this Annandale/Camperdown laneway warehouse brewpub has become a hit with Sydneysiders since opening in October 2015. The venue is lively with seating for 150 people, space for food vendors out the front and a band out the back. The venue was previously used as a wine cellar amongst other things, and retains its original rustic brick warehouse features, with low lighting from hanging beer kegs and upcycled furniture giving the place a surprisingly cozy feel.

On the taps are 12 beers, containing Wayward’s core range, rotating seasonal and one-off beers as well as a few taps to showcase other Sydney breweries. We’re big fans of Wayward’s beers in general, but in particular like the Sour Puss Raspberry Berlinerweiss – a perfect example of a low ABV beer done well and a great gateway for those who aren’t yet sold on the idea of sour beers. The Charmer India Red Ale and Fusami Victory India Pale Lager are also fantastic. When it comes to seasonal beers, on of our favourites is the Chockywocky Doppelbocky, a smoked chocolate and sour cherry beer aged in oak that’s well worth trying if you see it on the taps.

Wayward means “to be lost on purpose”, so get lost on purpose and get yourself to the brewery.
