Where To Eat & Drink In Coburg Guide (2027)

MELBOURNE | Brunswick is getting all of the attention as the ‘now’ suburb of Melbourne when it comes to good food and drink. And while it is brilliant, locals know that many of the area’s gems can be found north of Moreland Road, in Coburg. Keep walking up Sydney Road, and you’ll find a neighbourhood that has evolved from an industrial pocket into one of Melbourne’s most diverse and vibrant food destinations.

Anchored by the historic bluestone walls of the Pentridge prison precinct and the bustling Middle Eastern heart of Sydney Road, Coburg is a suburb that is exciting, vibrant, and filled with contrast. Most importantly, it is a neighbourhood with a real community spirit.

As a local who has spent plenty of time exploring the area, I have pulled together a guide covering everything from Filipino-inspired morning cafes and Middle Eastern bakeries to wine bars inside former prison cells, traditional Lebanese sweets, and succulent charcoal grilled meats.

To help you plan your next food and drink adventure, here is my local’s guide to the best food to eat and drink in Coburg.
