imbue Dessert Edition, Tea Degustation Returns

MELBOURNE | Can tea be paired with more than just biscuits? The imbue: Dessert Edition aims to prove exactly that.

The brainchild of Cheryl Teo from Flag & Spear Tea Hunters and Rebekah Hanna from In the Art of Entertaining Catering, imbue: Dessert Edition is a six-course, sit-down dessert and tea degustation featuring desserts such as cheese boards and panna cotta combined with carefully selected teas from the world over.

The event aims to challenge the way you might consider tea, with the variations designed to show off the key attributes and characteristics of the flavours. The teas are carefully selected to match, much like a sommelier would choose wine, and the creators think tea might just work better. There are teas from Indonesia, China, Nepal, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka and India. Think bright, sweet, floral aromas for Himalayan grown Nepalese white tea, marine and seaweed aromas for the Korean green tea grown on a tiny island, and fruit and mineral tones for the dark roasted Oolong tea grown off rocky cliffs in China. There will be teas here that you’ve never tried before.

There are two sessions, in the evening and the afternoon, depending on your taste, and both are held in the heart of Melbourne’s Fitzroy North. Bookings are essential so check out the details below. You can purser your tickets here.

Had you ever heard of a tea degustation? Neither had we. But we’re very very curious, and we think you might be too.
