BRISBANE | Granddad Jack’s Distillery was the Gold Coast’s first distillery when it opened in 2018. Since then, the family-owned business, named after founders David and Luke Ridden’s grandfather/great grandfather Jack, has gone from strength to strength.
They’ve become known for their quality, delicious spirits and liquors. Their signature spirit is ‘Greenhouse Gin’, with a fresh, gentle, botanical combination of cucumber, rose-hip, lemon myrtle, grapefruit peel and juniper. Other gins, a whiskey, and a coffee liqueur complete the core range.
On top of the core range, Granddad Jack’s also release limited spirits throughout the year. Past creations include things like Pavlova Gin, Trifle Liqueur, and Pumpkin Spice Moonshine.
If you’re in Brisbane, their recently opened distillery in the inner city suburb of Albion, is a great place to try their products. The distillery and bar features the full range of products to enjoy as tasters or in cocktails, in a casual, welcoming converted warehouse space.
Production is on full show to visitors, there’s trivia on Thursday nights, and tours are available over the weekend. The venue is family and dog friendly, and within walking distance of several other breweries, cafes, and restaurants.
