SAN FRANCISCO | Arizmendi Bakery is a co-operative of six worker owned bakeries in San Francisco and the Bay Area that value social justice and local community. Workers are provided with sustainable living and ongoing skills development, and are all owners in the bakery.
The Mission Arizmendi Bakery sells a variety of affordable baked goods like bread, pastries and pizza to eat in or take out, using quality locally sourced ingredients. Their baguettes and muffins are very popular, and the pizzas are top notch. These aren’t thin and crispy based Neapolitan style pizzas, but rather slightly thicker based organic sourdough pizzas generously topped with ingredients. Each day sees a different topping being offered, and you can purchase by the slice, half, or whole.
Our advice is to grab some pizza to enjoy on the sidewalk seating and grab a few pastries to take with you and enjoy later on in the day. You really can’t go wrong.
