TOKYO | Baird Tap Room Harajuku has been around since 2009, and offers an oasis for craft beer lovers looking to step aside from the hustle and bustle of the uber-trend, youth focused Takeshita-dori around the corner. The bar looks like a typical Japanese Izakaya with lots of wood and a low roof.
There are 15 Baird beers on tap, along with a few handpumps – between them you’ll find Baird’s core range along with limited and seasonal releases. Our favourite year-round Baird beer is the hoppy and floral
Suruga Bay Imperial IPA, and we’re also big fans of the seasonal Saison Sayuri, a Belgian-style Saison which contains four locally grown citrus fruit. Also make sure you try the house Harajuku Ale on hand pump, which you can only get at this bar.
As with any good Izakaya, a decent range of yakitori is offered, along with donburi, tamagoyaki egg rolls and gyoza, providing the perfect option for those looking for a meal or just a few skewers to snack on while enjoying their beer.
