MELBOURNE | Beer DeLuxe was one of the first venues in Hawthorn to start offering a really decent range of craft beer in the area, when the former “Undertaker” pub was revamped back in 2012. In that time, Beer DeLuxe Hawthorn has continued to offer a great selection of beers both on tap and in bottles, differentiating itself from its Fed Square sibling by offering a more traditional pub meets sports bar hangout.
Across 16 taps you’ll find a whole variety of Australian and foreign beers, covering a range of styles and bases. Whether its an accessible Pale Ale or a challenging Smoked Sour, there’s sure to be something that tickles your fancy on tap. If not, there’s no shortage of beers in the fridges, with an even more diverse range to choose from. Due to the less hectic nature of the Hawthorn Beer Deluxe (compared to the Fed Square one), you get much more opportunity to talk to the staff here, who are generally more knowledgeable than the staff at Fed Square when it comes to all things beer.
Food, while acceptable, isn’t anything particularly special. Mostly pub classics like burgers, parmas and pizzas. We tend to stick to drinks when at Beer Deluxe, but if it is food you’re after you’re best bet is one of the pizzas, and some beer battered chips.
