Gage Roads Freo Brewery, Fremantle

PERTH | Congratulations on the new brewery Gage Roads. I swung by Gage Roads Freo two weeks ago and was super impressed by the space, which occupies the renovated historic A shed on Fremantle Victoria Quay.

It’s a huge space, with capacity for 1,500 people, with different zones indoors and outdoors. Come sunset, you’ll definitely want to be on one of the outdoor waterfront tables, but the whole venue is bathed in natural sunlight.

All of the beers on tap are brewed on site. That’d be the full core range, limited edition, and brewpub only brews. Tasting paddles are unfortunately limited to a set four beers, but having said that they were happy to swap two that I said I’d tried before with two others of my choice.

It’s a great place to bring your non beer drinking mates too, with lots of quality wines and spirits on the menu, all from independent WA producers.

For food, it’s tasty pub grub with the local WA focus that underpins the whole venue. Fresh seafood, tacos, pizza, salads and sweets.
