CHICAGO | Goose Island Brewpub (Clyborn) Lincoln Park is the bar at Goose Island’s HQ (well if you don’t count owner AB InBev’s HQ) and has been serving an assortment of Goose Island beers to the people of Chicago since 1988. At the main bar you’ll find 28 taps pouring Goose Island beer from AB InBev’s New York brewery, Goose Island’s Fulton Street production brewery, and Goose Island’s new 15-barrel brewing system in the next room. In the side room is the Vintage Ale Bar, which has taps showcasing Goose Island’s reserve beers – think wood-aged fruited sours and Bourbon County Stout (which will be available year-round).
Of course, tasting paddles are available so there’s ample opportunity to work your way through several different beers, be it core range or seasonals. Try the Fulton St Blend Coffee Ale, a 5.5% ABV ale aged with coffee from Intelligentsia, and the Juliet, an 8% ABV American wild ale with blackberries. Of course, the Bourbon County Barrel Stout is also a must try.
For food chef Marcus Rasmussen (ex Perennial Virant) has taken over the kitchen and oversees a revamped menu of elevated pub fare. Think salads, cheese and charcuterie boards, sandwiches and steak.
