MELBOURNE | Hilton Melbourne has collaborated with family owned Australian sheepskin manufacturer, Ugg Australia to create a Winter Wonderland inspired experience and the perfect staycation during this chilly weather! This partnership has come about as a celebration of the 35th anniversary of the local Melbourne business.

The City Lane was invited to DoubleTree by Hilton on Flinders Street to spend a night in one of the newly launched Winter Wonderland rooms. Upon arrival in our lavish room, my guest and I were greeted with a selection of wintery treats, including a flask of hot chocolate, marshmallows, gingerbread and warm roasted chestnuts.

The Nordic-themed rooms are kitted out with twinkling fairy lights and luxe faux fur rugs, throws and cushions, which cover the walls, floors and chairs. The rooms even feature a Christmas tree with accompanying fake snow to emulate that festive feel. The luxurious suites highlight the most recent products from the Melbourne business collection. The exceedingly comfortable rooms even provide a selection of Christmas themed DVDs to snuggle up with for the evening, creating a relaxing winter retreat.

During their Winter Wonderland experience, guests will be invited to select a dinner option from the mouth-watering winter in-room feasting menu, which can be enjoyed alongside a warming glass of mulled wine. The menu options range from chicken and sweet corn macaroni cheese to white chocolate, almond and barley porridge with vanilla and berry compote. During my stay I chose the Quiet Deeds vanilla porter braised beef cheek with shaved cabbage, apple and mint slaw (you can read more about the Quiet Deeds x Hilton collaboration here). The beef was extremely tender and the fusion of flavours was delicious; the perfect dish for a cost night in.

Whether you’re travelling to Melbourne from elsewhere, or simply looking for a mini-staycation in your hometown, Hilton’s Winter Wonderland experience is definitely a cozy option to consider.

Hilton Melbourne South Wharf and DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne Flinders Street will open their uniquely transformed Winter Wonderland rooms to the public from 1 July until the end of August.
