CHICAGO | Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is a national artisan ice-cream chain founded in Columbus Ohio by art student turned ice-cream maker Jeni Britton. It’s known for its use of high quality ingredients and interesting flavours and has one several awards since the first store opened in 2002.
If you’re looking for some top quality ice-cream, Jeni’s is quite simply one of the best places in Chicago to find it. The quality of ingredients is apparent with each bite and the ice-cream has just the right creamy texture due to the buttermilk base. Flavours taste the way you actually expect them too. Interesting flavours past and present include things like Cherry Lambic Sorbet, Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet, and Sweet Potato with Torched Marshmallows. Of course if you want traditional flavours they’re available too.
There are four Jeni’s locations in Chicago. The Lakeview one is our local so that’s where we are most often but you’ll get the same quality ice-cream no matter which one you visit.
