LONDON | John Lewis is transforming the rooftop of their Oxford Street store into a summer rooftop garden. To make it happen, they’ve teamed up with some of the top names in food and drink from around town. “The Gardening Society” will be hosting a range of rotating popups from the likes of Robin Gill (The Dairy, The Manor, Paradise Garage), the team at B.O.B.’s Lobster, Shotgun American BBQ and more. Expect simple food, using local produce and herbs and honey from the rooftop itself.
For those who want a drink, the bar has been set up by the team at Night Tales and features a range of craft beers, wines and spirits to enjoy during the long summer days (under a pergola when it rains!).
The space has been designed by Tony Woods, former RHS national young garden designer of the year, and is very quaint. When we visited the atmosphere was fun and relaxing and it truly did feel a world away from the hustle and bustle down on Oxford Street. There are even yoga sessions that will be run during a few of the days, and an Etsy craft popup shop too – meaning whenever you visit there’s bound to be something to interest you.
