DAVOS | Located a short 15 minute drive from the centre of Davos is the side valley of Sertig, where the Konrad Family Farm. It’s owned by wife and husband team Monika and Nik Konrad, who raise livestock and produce a variety of traditional Graubünden delicacies amidst the beauty of their natural surrounds.
There’s a small shop on site, open Monday to Saturday, where you can purchase much of what Monika and Nik produce. Think dried soup mixes, liqueurs, baked goods, cheese, dried meat products and preserves. If you can’t make it to the farm, you can order online.
The Konrads are extremely proud of what they make, and of the quality of their produce, and are happy to give you samples to try before you buy. The apple cider, made with apples from their daughter’s orchard, is particularly delicious. Also impressive is their Bündnerfleisch, Salsiz and Knebeli – dried meats made completely on site.
A vist to Konrad Family Farm is well worth making, if not for the fantastic produce then for the breathtaking views. If you really like the serenity, you can even stay at the farm’s full furnished rustic 3-room apartment inside the attic of a converted farmhouse.
