LONDON | Mercante, an Italian restaurant at the Park Lane Sheraton Hotel, has opened its summer terrace overlooking Green Park, and has teamed up this year with an on-the-go retro cart run by artisan gelato specialists La Gelatiera. With summer finally making up its mind to stay in London, and a number of gorgeous summer days, we were invited to try out the experience for ourselves.
La Gelatiera are putting on show some of their most popular and unique flavours of artisan gelato, from refreshing Sicilian Pistachio, Blood Orange to Bread and Marble Nutella, to the daring Basil and Chili. At the same time, Mercante is offering an interesting three-course Italian food and gelato pairing menu. We opted for the tasting menu, and really enjoyed oursleves – the highlight being the Panzanella salad with olive oil ice cream and Red poll beef tartare, paired with caramelised salsify and applewood ice cream. The perfect refreshing summer combo.
Whether you want to try the full matched experience, or just stop by for a tasty gelato and a refreshing Aperol Spritz, La Gelatiera At Mercante is definitely worth checking out. Do be quick though, it ends in September.
