LONDON | London Fields Brewery helped kick start Hackney’s modern craft beer scene when it opened under the rail arches in London Fields in 2011. The tap room is a cozy space where lovers of good beer can go to enjoy the core range of London Fields beers, along with experimental and seasonal brews, some of which can only be found at the tap room.

The beers on offer at London Fields are quite diverse, and one thing we particularly love is that all of the core range beers are offered on tap and hand pump. Trying the same beers which have been carbonated and poured differently really makes one appreciate the pros and cons of both, and brings out the flavours of the beers differently. From the core range, we’re big fans of the ‘Love Not War’, a smooth caramel tinged red ale and the ‘3 Weiss Monkeys’, a refreshing white IPA. For those who can’t decide which beer to try first, tasting paddles are offered, which provides a great way to get acquainted with the brewery’s beers.

Food is more than an afterthought at London Fields, with all of the dishes designed to match well with beer. The beers inspire many of the dishes and, vice versa, several of the seasonal brews are inspired by what’s going on in the kitchen. Try the Love Not War Pulled Pork Bun or the 3 Weiss Monkeys cheesecake for a good example of the kitchen’s beer inspiration being used to good effect.

Brewery tours are held on the weekend, along with performances of live music. Make sure to keep an eye out on London Fields’ social media pages for detail on upcoming beer-and-food matching evenings.
