LIMA | Lúpulo Peruvian Draft Bar opened in Miraflores’ Miraflorina building in 2015, with the aim of celebrating and promoting what’s great about Peruvian beer. All beer at Lupulo is Peruvian, and the walls of the trendy, narrow space are covered in artworks created by local artists. There’s a big screen for live sport, and the atmosphere is always great on game day.
Lupulo has 21 taps of rotating beers from across Peru, and take pride in ensuring that each beer is properly temperature controlled, and served through clean lines. For those who want something other than what’s on tap, there’s also a great selection of cans and bottles. The knowledgeable staff are happy to talk through what’s on offer and to provide recommendations, and you can get tasting paddles if you want to try a few things.
Beer is the main focus here, but for non-beer drinkers the venue is physically connected to sister venue Quina Cocina & Bar, which make great cocktails, including some which feature beer as an ingredient.
Food is focused on things that go well with beer – think chicken wings, tacos, and burgers, all matched with various beers that are on tap that day. Try the spicy wings with cocona sauce and Roquefort cheese paired with a hoppy American red ale.
