MELBOURNE | Mane Liquor Belmont is a bottle shop dedicated to crafty versions of all kinds of alcohol, but in particular beer. Walk inside and you’ll see shelves full of beer to the right, beer fridges to the left, above which is a board showing what’s available on tap (you can get growlers filled here), and spirits and wines towards the back.
The beer list here is very impressive. There are hundreds of different beers both local and from further afar, covering every style imaginable. If it’s a core range craft beer from the likes of Pirate Life, Feral, or Mountain Goat, you’ll find it here but what’s more impressive is the selection of rare beers. Mane have become very adept at sourcing the good stuff in the 12 years they’ve been operating and you can find limited releases from the likes of Alesmith and The Bruery here.
Mane also do regular collaborations with local breweries and businesses – one of our favourite beers of the summer just gone was the Frosty Fruit Sour, a 4.4% ABV Berlinerweiss brewed with Cheeky Monkey and Chicho Gelato, who contributed their passionfruit, mandarin and lime sorbet to the beer.
The owners, Elliot Moore and Josh Daley, are passionate about good beer and it shows in what’s on offer and their knowledge when you talk to them. Mane Liquor isn’t just one of the best craft beer shops in Perth, it’s one of the best in Australia.
