PALM COVE | Nu Nu Restaurant is one of regional Queensland’s best restaurants, located on the idyllic beachfront of Palm Cove. It’s an airy, open area with beach shack holiday vibes, opening out onto a palm tree lined, tarpaulin covered deck and the beach.
Unlike many restaurants with this sort of view and location, Nu Nu doesn’t cut any corners when it comes to its offering. It’s a modern Australian menu, broadly South East Asian influenced, making the most of seasonal tropical North Queensland produce and fresh seafood.
Think dishes like lightly battered Pacific oysters rolled in rainforest honey and sesame seeds, with hand-rolled green tea noodles, with pieces of jellyfish, and ginger caramel, and pineapple & turmeric curry of wild ginger pork belly, with caramel, coconut, Thai basil & crackle. It’s unique, and very much representative of the best that this region offers.
For drinks, it’s local beers, wine, and a cocktail list that follows the same theme as the food. For example, the ‘Summer Breeze’, a wonderful mixture of Bacardi and limoncello with fresh lime, lychees and ruby grapefruit juice.
