LONDON | St Martin In The Fields is an Anglican church on the north-east corner of Trafalgar Square. While a church has existed on this site since medieval times, the current structure was built between 1722-26.
Its Neoclassical design was controversial at the time, but has since become famous and copied all over the world, particularly in the United States. The architecture of St Martin In The Fields, and worship if you’re that way inclined, isn’t the only reason to visit though. Art exhibitions, jazz concerts and other events are held in the church’s crypt, and there’s also a “crypt cafe”.
