MELBOURNE | Get ready Star Wars fans. In anticipation of the upcoming release of Star Wars: the Last Jedi (in cinemas 14 December 2017), The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will present the exclusive Australian premiere of Star Wars: The Concert Series with The Force Awakens on 8, 9 and 10 December 2017 at St Kilda’s newly refurbished Palais Theatre. Those who score tickets will be treated to a full screening of the film with Oscar-winning composer John Williams’ classic score performed live to picture, led by conductor Nicholas Buc.

Melburnians can consider themselves lucky to be treated to this one – the only other place in the world you’ll be able to experience this earlier is at the world premiere from the New York Philharmonic in October.

Tickets to Star Wars: The Force Awakens go on sale at 11am, Wednesday 6 September at Ticketmaster. We can’t think of a better way to get prepared for the new film so close to its release. Get your lightsabers ready.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

When: Friday 8 & Saturday 9 December at 8pm, Sunday 10 December at 2pm
Where: Palais Theatre. St Kilda VIC 3182
