SAN FRANCISCO | SWIG is a speakeasy style bar in San Francisco’s Tenderloin with a focus on classic cocktails and original drinks. There are ten beers on draft and a handful of wines too, but the cocktails and spirits are what you’ll want to be going for. As well as fantastic cocktails (six of which are on drafat), SWIG also offers a diverse range of spirits, including one of the most extensive whisky lists in the city. They cover every type and brand, and also different iterations within the brand for comparison, like blends, single-barrel, and cask-strength whiskeys. Try the “City Lights”, which combines sparkling wine, elderflower, aamaro, Madeira, grapefruit & lime juice.
Live music is a big thing at SWIG, and most nights you’ll be able to enjoy a band (without cover charge) playing jazz, blues and the like, or DJs. The venue is set over two levels, in a heritage building with vaulted ceilings, historic red brick, and hardwood floors. Mixed amongst this are contemporary furnishings which make for a classy, casual venue with just the right touch of class. Stay downstairs for the live music, or head upstairs to the lounge for couches and converstaion.
