SAN FRANCISCO | The Crafty Fox Alehouse is a craft beer bar in Mission that occupies a small space where it offers patrons a selection of mostly local and nationally sourced beers across 36 taps. The Crafy Fox Alehouse was opened in July 2015 by cousins Barry Smyth and Micheal McCloskey, in partnership with Jason Perkins and Michael O’Connor of Brick & Mortar Music Hall next door, and has very quickly built a reputation as being one of the best craft beer bars in San Francisco.
There’s a lot to recommend about the selection of beers here, which features a constantly rotating selection of interesting beers, including many which can be hard to find. Think things like Canadian Breakfast Stout from Founders Brewing Co, Nibs & Beans Speedway Stout from Alesmith Brewing Company, and Strawberry Rhubarb Belmonter from Alpha Acid Brewing Co.
A variety of glass sizes are offered so you can try a few smaller pours or go straight for pints if you choose. There’s seating at the bar, and small tables dotted around the narrow space.
Food wise it’s an eclectic selection of small and large bites like mac & cheese, pastrami tacos, steak tartare, fish & chips, fried chicken, and sandwiches.
